🍞 Fresh Tips from Guam Bakery
Guam’s heat and humidity are no joke, and they can make fresh bread spoil faster if not stored properly. Here’s how to keep your baked goods fresher, longer.
🌴 Why It Matters
Mold loves moisture. In Guam’s climate, bread left out on the counter can spoil within 1–2 days. We bake fresh every day — but after that, it’s on you! Here’s how to keep things tasting their best.

Storage Tips
✔ Best Option:
Refrigerate bread in a sealed bag or container if you won’t finish it within 2–3 days.
✔ For Longer Storage:
Freeze what you won’t use soon. Slice it first if needed, then freeze in a resealable bag.
❌ What Not To Do:
• Don’t leave bread out in a hot kitchen
• Don’t store near windows, stoves, or appliances
• Don’t keep it in the plastic bag unsealed — condensation = mold!
🥖 Reheating & Serving
• Pan de sal: Toast or microwave for a few seconds with a damp towel
• Dinner rolls: Wrap in foil and reheat in the oven for 5–10 min
• Frozen loaves: Let thaw on the counter in the sealed bag, then warm in the oven or toaster
👀 Spotting Spoilage
If you see fuzzy spots, toss it.
If it smells sour or looks wet inside the bag, it’s time to let it go.
Dry bread? Not bad — just needs a little toasting.
